I bought this gun because of it's legendary accuracy, so I took it to the range. Using the Nikon BDC scope and recommended load, I could get 2 1/2" groups at 200 yards and actually get a 8" group at 300 yards!
Now I had the confidence I needed and took it afield. I had been chasing a nice 10 point all year and finally got my opportunity on the muzzleloader season opening morning.
He came out of a timber edge to an old haulage road in the strip mines and stopped on the edge checking to see if the coast was clear. I was waiting for just this chance to let the Pro Hunter rip. I ranged him at 175 yards and all he would give me in the clear was the head and neck shot.
His nervous head twitching told me he was going to bolt across the road, so I settled the scope in on his neck and slowly squeezed.
When the shot rang out he disappeared from my view, and I quickly hussled to the spot I had last seen him. There he was dropped in his tracks with a fatal neck shot.
