This was a once in a life time opportunity as I was invited to go to Samsons Ridge in Southern Illinois for a management hunt with a my good friend Ralph Sollie.
After many hours at the range trying differnet loads I had the T/C dialed in for 200 yards. On the first night of the hunt, I was overwhelmed at the number of bucks that I had the opportunity to see come to one of the many ponds to water prior to dusk.
The temperatuers were unseasonably warm so we knew that a water source near a food plot should produce some deer. After about 2 hours my buck came out at about 100 yards behind me . He was heading straight at us and at about 85 yards turned broadside to feed on some clover giving me my chance.
I settled the cross hairs of my T/C Pro Hunter just behind his shoulder and slowly squeezed the trigger, after the smoke cleared there lay my buck. He scored 140 1/8 and was 22 inches wide.
Thanks to T/C for helping me harvest my best buck so far.
