On Wednesday 4/29/09 morning I shot not only my first turkey with an Encore but my first turkey!
I shot it at 6:30 am. I had just settled into my blind in the woods behind my barn when a hen ran past my 3 decoys followed by a blast of gobbling. I no sooner got my encore shouldered when the gobbler strutted by. I saw the beard and lit the Encore off. Down he went and just then another gobbler came in of equal size. He looked at his buddy, saw me and high tailed it out of there. The shot was 40 yards.
The Encore is the model 3902. The turkey weighed about 22 lbs, had a 10 inch beard and 1 inch spurs.
I just turned 63 and it’s my first gobbler and I think that I’m still shaking!!!
The Encore was a retirement present for Christmas. It is my second and I have a number of barrels. I also have a Contender.
I love the T/C products and the interchangeable barrel system.
Keep up the good work.
One good shot!
