Saturday morning April 25, found my friend Chris O'Berry and myself set on this bird we had nicknamed "houdini",we named him this because he had escaped us numerous times in the past......we knew where he roosted and knew he was still henned up....this morning we set our hens and strutting tom (peeping tom) decoys up the food plot behind us in hopes that the hens would work him in range as they passed by....

As the morning sky begin to lighten he began to hammer on the limb...this bird gobbled and gobbled and gobbled.... we heard the hens fly down and they started to mill around in front of us..some soft calling between Chris and myself brought a thunderous gooble and moments later he was on the ground...

As they worked up the food plot 'ol houdini" spotted the gobbler decoy with all the hens around him and he could not stand it...he started up the road in half strut- gobbling as he went......we stopped him about 30 yds right down the barrel of the T.C.!

The rest of the story is in the picture.....21 lbs. 11 1/2 beard 1 1/2 spurs.........
