I had been watching this deer on one of my trail cams for several weeks he had been coming out at 7am most mornings. I was sitting under a large oak tree at the top of a hill in some brush, me on one side and one of my best friends on the other. We had already seen several other deer come out that morning but they were not the one I was looking for.

Just then my friend leaned over to me and said here comes a big buck to our left! It is now 7am, I looked through my scope and did not think at first it was the one I was looking for so I turned up the power on my scope and when he turned sideways I knew it was him. He was now at 85 yards broadside and it is now 7:03am. I put the cross- hairs on his scapula and pulled the hammer back and squeezed the trigger. It was a calm morning so it took a few minutes for the smoke to clear and I thought I had missed. My friend was sure that he was lying where I had shot him. We did not check for about 45 min but when we did he was dead in his tracks!
