Second Saturday of 2009, Indiana gun season.
I was walking to see if I could jump something because it had been a slow morning. As I was walking the edge of a hay field next to a woods I heard a noise and when I looked in that direction all I could see was a little amount of rack behind some greenbrairs.
I froze and looked closer, not twenty yards from me was this monster that had just stood up looking away from me. I slowly eased up my T/C muzzleloader, took a second look, lined up the sights and squeezed the trigger. As the smoke was clearing I could see two does running away and my buck stumbling over the top of a small hill - then came the geart sound of the crash to the ground.
After waiting a few moments I walked up to find the buck of a life time taking a permanent nap not 25 yards from were he was shot.
After over 40 years of hunting this is The Buck of a Lifetime. There will be a lifetime of remembering as this will be a wall hanger thanks to my T/C Black Diamond muzzleloader.
