My son is 9 years old and just loves to hunt. On November 30, 2009 the opening day in Pa. he shot his first deer, a 5 point.
Let me tell you the excitement that he showed when the deer fell over was unreal. It was a moment that neither of us will ever forget. I was so proud of him, not just for making a good shot but for his patience in waiting for a good shot and not just shooting.
We saw the deer coming through the woods out around 65 yards, we pulled the hammer back and I told him when they get into the first little opening I will grunt and stop him. When the buck came into the opening I grunted and the deer stopped. He said dad I don't have a clear shot. I told him to wait and let him walk a little more and then I will grunt again.
So the deer walked another 25 yards I grunted and he stopped again. He said I have a good shot. I said then take it, he squeezed the trigger and the deer jumped walked about 6 feet and fell over. The T.C. Prohunter and my son did an awesome job.
