It was November 10, 2009 and I hit the mountain before daylight. The weather was mild and shortly after daylight a lite rain started falling. I was hunting from the ground on a stand in front of a nice rock to sit on.
At 10:40 am I caught movement off to my right and saw it was a deer but didn't know if it was a buck. I was standing and when the deer walked behind some trees I raised my rifle and in the scope saw it was a legal buck. When it moved behind some more trees I sat down and got ready.
When it walked out behind the trees I fired. The deer was about 70 yards away. It ran about 20 yards towards me and expired. In the photo the deer is laying as it fell. What a great hunt, and day this was.
I had a 3/4 mile drag out but my cheerful heart helped make it easy. We process our own deer and love the whole hunting experience. We eat what we kill and nothing is wasted.
I love my TC Encore and have killed several deer with it. Just a great rifle.
