I am Cassidy Curtis from Roseneath, Ontario, Canada. On the second day of the fall gun hunt (November 5th)it was a cold day with rain/sleet. However I and my mother decided to rough it and go out deer hunting anyways.

After waiting until dusk I decided to pack it in. I started to walk to where my mother was to get her but I decided to stop at a fallen down tree over looking a valley where I had seen deer before. After stopping I noticed movement at the edge of the woods.

I soon realized that it was a deer. I knelt down taking rest on the tree that was down. After seeing through the scope that the deer was a buck I began to shake (people weren't lying about buck fever!!). I tried as hard as I could to stay still. I put the cross-hairs on his shoulder and fired. He dropped instantly.

I can't thank Thompson Centre and Nikon optics enough for helping me harvest my first deer, an 8-point buck! The Encore; Shockwave bullet, and Nikon Omega scope did a tremendous job!
