Feb 18 2000 Near St Thomas Az. My Nephew and I were participating in the HAM Handgun Archery Muzzleloader hunt.

On Opening Day we saw from a 1/2 mile 2 javelinas foraging along the Gila river bank . After a 1/2 hour stalk we were within 100 yards of them and sizing them up .

I decided which one I wanted to try to take. I carried a 50 Cal TC Hawken and my Nephew carried the TC Contender for me just in case? Well with no rangefinder I guessed it was 90 yards and took my shot with the smoke pole and the ground in front of the Boar exploded . He and the other pig headed for the long grass at top speed .

My nephew handed me the TC Contender and I leveled it and squeezed the trigger . The monster Boar died in mid stride . When measured 90 days after the drying period it measured 14 13/16 taking the Az Wildlife Trophies Annual award for that year, I presented my ailing brother Michael the Scull and he was listed in the Award book .

We excepted the award postumusly for him at the Banquet .
