After missing a nice wide eight pointer early in the season with my shotgun I decided to put it up and get the Omega out that way I was for sure not to miss the next time one rolled by.

Days went by seeing nothing, then on the last day of the firearm season I heard what sounded like a deer or two behind me but it turned out to be squirrels. So I turned back around and heard it again then turned back to make sure and caught a glimpse of something bigger than a squirrel and looked under my stand and saw three doe looking me right in the eye. One big one (one I shot) one a little smaller and a little one.

I froze then let them get out to about 40 yards then they all were open and broad side, they turned their heads away and I lifted the T/C up, pulled the hammer back and let it go. She fell, got back up, ran and fell on her side about ten yards from where she was hit.

Field dressed 155lbs. Not bad for my first Thompson Center TKO.
