My brother and I had applied for tags to hunt Colorado bull elk with a muzzleloader four years when we both drew this year. We hunted on public land.

We had seen several elk with my friend taking a nice 5x5 with a bow 2 days before the muzzleloader season opened. My brother took a 5x4 five days into the season.

I continued to hunt hard and on the evening of day 8 of the 9 day season I was able to take this 5x4 bull(my first) with my 50 cal Pro Hunter and a 370 gr maxi ball. Watching him come in to our calls bugling, chuckling and raking trees was something I'll never forget. My Pro Hunter performed great!
