First time Saskatchewan hunt. I spotted this deer from over 1 mile away and made a stock on him along with 4 other deer.

I was able to remain undetected and get within 90 yards of their path. I waited patiently along a thick brush windrow and when he came into my shooting window, I was able to get a shot off. After the smoke cleared he only ran 50 yards where he succumbed to my 250g Barnes bullet.

This was my first hunt with a muzzleloader, what a blast, it definitely wont be my last. Later that day we took him to the local butcher where we weighed him on the rail at 198lbs! He would have weighed close to 280lbs on the hoof!
