It was November 11th 2010 and the 6th day of our Minnesota 9 day firearms season. It was very windy and gusts up to 40 MPH were experienced. I hadn't seen anything the first weekend and decided to let things calm down a bit. I went back in the woods on this Thursday to see what happened since I had several good bucks on my trail cameras.

It was time to pull out all the stops so I set out a buck decoy and plenty of scent and settled in to do some rattling and grunting and estrus bleating.

Just at sunset this big boy just materialized like a ghost about 20 feet behind my decoy, he kept himself behind a tree and after several minutes just walked straight away with that tree between us.

It was now or never so when he was out of site I decided to try and grunt him back in and after 3 long grunts he came back and gave me the broadside shot I needed at about 150 yards.

I have been shooting T/C Encore handguns for 12 years now and they never cease to amaze me with their accuracy.
