My husband and I have been hunting this deer since mid October. We have three game cameras in different locations and once we spotted this guy we knew it was game on. He was totally nocturnal and we never got photos of him at anything close to shooting light.
I can't even tell you how many hours we each spent in our blind watching the trail. We saw lots of nice bucks but held out for this one - hoping that one day he would get careless.
On November 21st I had been in the blind for 7 hours. It was -15C (5F) with flurries. Just before 5pm he appeared on the hillside walking along the trail, nose-down. He was easy to recognize with his width and his gnarly brow tines. When he was 100 yards away I grunted to stop him, and he offered a clear broadside shot. I dropped him where he stood.
This was my first deer taken with the ProHunter - I love its ease of operation and accuracy. I also have a .17 cal barrel and used this gun to shoot hundreds of gophers in the summertime.
