Last day of muzzleloader season here in Michigan, set up in corner of soy bean field, this 8pt buck came out of the woods behind three does to feed. I put a kill shot on him between 60-70 yards, he took a couple of leaps and bounds and died.
Used my Thompson/Center .50cal New Englander with iron sights and a 372grn maxi-ball, it's the only muzzleloader I have, but would like one day to get a modern in-line for the longer distance shots for the bucks that I saw but could not shoot.
I still would take this one with me for the shorter range shots, I just like the traditional style of hunting with it, like the hunters of the past did.
