I harvested this male black bear on the first day of the 2010 Pennsylvania black bear rifle season. I had been watching this bear along with two others all fall long throughout archery season and early muzzleloader. I ended up harvesting the brute at 200 yards with one well placed shot through the boiler.

He ended up waying 350lb live weight. Of course being that it was shot with a .416 Rigby the bear was anchored right then and there. I have taken other bears in Pennsylvania but I am especially proud of this hunt. Not to many hunters get to harvest a PA bear with a single shot.

This just goes to show that if you take your time, one shot is all you ever need. I wouldn't trust my hunts to any other rifle other than my T/C. Thanks again and again Thompson Center!
