I was hunting some land that a friend owns that's an hour and a half north west of Lake Okeechobee. We were spot and stalk hunting during what I like to refer to as “primetime”, roughly an hour or so before legal shooting light is up. My friend spotted this hog about 400 yards out in a cow pasture feeding at a fast pace.
We made the decision that it was a shooter and the stalk was on. I ran down a hedge row and closed the distance by about 200 yards stopping and going, trying to create as little movement as possible and keeping the wind in our favor. I eventually got within about 150 yards and laid down in the field to make my shot. The hog eventually turned my way and fed within 50 yards of me! I then shot the hog with my new T/C Pro Hunter .308 and the hog dropped where he stood. I am a firm supporter of T/C firearms and as a NH native am proud to be from the state where these guns originated from. No other rifle will be in my safe except for a T/C!!!
