I was hunting the majestic South Texas brush country near Laredo, TX on a well managed ranch for a buck I had seen last year while bow hunting and passed on because of broken tines. The buck had a 6X5 frame and I could not shoot him because his rack was busted up so badly and I'm not a fan of reconstructing racks.

While surveying the ranch this year by helicopter my buck was spotted and photographed sporting his 6X5 rack once again and he had added several inches of tine length making him a 150 class trophy.

I was hunting with my guide Chalo when I spotted the buck coming into the sendero and he told me that this was the buck we were looking for from last year and I knew from past experience that once he told me to shoot the Thompson would do it's job.

After the roar of the rifle the buck was mine. It was an awesome feeling to know that allowing this buck to live another year was the correct choice and I had just taken the largest deer of my life scoring 157 B&C!!! I love this rifle!!
