I shot my first buck on my uncle's farm with my dad's T/C Contender carbine in 30-30 Winchester. It was just about 5 minutes after first light when the buck came out of a creek about 150 yards in front of us. My dad thought at first it may be a doe but as I watched him come closer to us through the scope I kept counting more points. When I said to my dad "He's an eight pointer.", he replied "Shoot him!" I shot him in the left front shoulder at 95 yards. He spun to the left, ran about 10 yards and fell dead. My dad was very proud and impressed with the shot I made.
