Whitetail deer
TC Contender- original frame
44mag

Well this is a bittersweet story, but ends very well.

My older brother, David, passed away in 2005 at the age of 44. Which obviously is the bitter part of the story.

We are from Louisiana, New Orleans to be exact, and grew up fishing and hunting. He left me most of his guns and hunting equipment, including this T/C Contender.

So I bought a 44 mag barrel and set it up to fit me. My brother was a good 4 inches taller than me! I changed the grips, forend, scope....all except for the action.

And here is the sweet part, I was in my stand for all of about 20 minutes this morning and saw a buck crossing my corn field. I pulled out my Buck Roar and my "Big Ole can" and went to work.

I turned around in my stand because i knew where he would circle to wind me. He did just as a young buck should, circled down about 50 yards in the thickest stuff! I dropped him in his tracks!

First Deer with a pistol! I am hooked. Later I missed this deer's paw paw in exactly the same spot! next year......
