I traveled to South Africa in July for a plains game hunt. I looked high and low for
A .375 Ruger barrel for my Encore but could not find one so not to be detoured
I decided to take my 300 win mag for the heavy game and a 280 for the small
Stuff.

Hunting was very good, I shoot six animals all with "one shot kills" and no tracking.
Which made the PH and Trackers very happy?

All the animals I took made the SCI record book with the Blesbuck being number
Eight in the world. Two of the other animals scored in the top one hundred SCI
World wide.

The Encore’s performance was just outstanding. My shots ranged for 75 yards to 300 yards. I have topped both barrels with Burris Optics 3 to 9 BDC. This seems to
be a very good combination to get the job done.

I have booked a trip for 2010 and hope to add a large bore barrel to my Encore
Collection to be able to take down some dangerous game on the next trip.
